Founded in 1996, as a Retail Field Service Company, Advanced Service Technologies still maintains Field Service as our core business. Headquartered in the greater Dayton, OH area, Advanced Service Technologies’ 50,000 square foot Staging and Integration Facility is also home to all corporate operations including its sales, service operations and delivery, human capital management, and financial functions. With our extensive retail industry knowledge, AST is a leader in designing, implementing, and supporting technology-based solutions for our clients. Jerry L. Abner

Founder and CEO

Jerry served six years as a Flight Instrumentation Technician at McClellan AFB CA. He was responsible for the maintenance and repair of multiple on board attack, flight control, and navigation systems. Upon completion of military service, Jerry spent the next 15 years with the Sorbus (Decision One) which was the country’s largest third party computer service organization during his tenure. Here, he served in capacities ranging from Field Technician and Territory Supervisor, Branch Manager, and eventually, Regional Vice President of Sales. After completing his tenure with Decision One, Jerry moved on to Dallas based POS manufacturer Fujitsu / ICL and developed nationwide depot and Field support service models for all non-Fujitsu manufactured products.

In March of 1996, Jerry founded Advanced Service Technologies. Today, the organization has grown from a handful of employees to one of the most widely recognized leaders in the industry. Staying true to its core, AST provides world class installation, hardware rollouts and staging services for some of the nation’s’ largest retailers and manufactures.

Deborah A. Dobransky

VP of Corporate Administration

Deborah began her career at General Automation and was responsible for administration and operational logistics for the Detroit Michigan service branch. In 1983, through a Sorbus acquisition, she came into the company as a Senior Field Coordinator and within four months was promoted to Inventory Supervisor Specialist. Shortly after, she was promoted to Area Administrative Manager, responsible for nine remote field office locations.

In 1996, Deborah joined Advanced Service Technologies as Vice President of Field Operations bringing her years of experience in both Customer Service, Administration and Technical Logistics support to the forefront.

She has been instrumental in the growth of the organization by implementing a world class systematic approach to providing AST’s customers with critical information. This information, captured in real time, concerns everything from field status and logistics, to billing services.

Brad McMartin

VP of Operations

Brad McMartin has been in the service industry for over 20 years, working within the automotive, financial and IT field service industries. Joining AST in 1999 as a new store construction field service engineer, Brad was promoted to director of field services in 2003. Brad led our project management team into a full array of customer support services.

For the past 7 years, Brad has served as our Vice President of Technical Support Services. In this role, Brad oversees all technical and operational strategic planning for our integration and field service solutions. From RFI to project completion, Brad draws on his experience as a PM and field engineer to develop solutions that both meet and exceed our customers’ expectations.

Brad and his team work constantly to explore new ways to provide our customers with the services most important to them. Recently, AST has engaged in providing services for A/V solutions including digital signage, queue management and multimedia within the retail environment.

James L. Conrad

Director of Technology

With over a decade of experience in the IT service industry, James got his start with Systemax as a technical support specialist. He provided phone support to local and remote end users. Joining AST’s technical command center, James provided phone support to end users nationwide while managing our “Spinning Spares” program, ensuring 24 hour uptime.

Upon AST’s entry into the staging and integration business, James was integral in the development of the technology required to provide premium services to our customers.

Today, James serves as AST’s Manager of Implementation, overseeing all field service deployments and staging services. His experiences working with end users and in depth technical knowledge have enabled the streamlining of a number of processes which allow AST to best serve its customers.

In addition to his day to day responsibilities, James holds a multitude of technical Certifications and is the lead developer of AST Portal Pro, our proprietary work order and database system.

 Jeff Peters

Manager of Field Services

Jeff has worked in the technology service industry in a variety of roles for over a decade. His experiences include serving as field service manager to one of the largest Grocery chains in the nation. In that role, Jeff was responsible for managing maintenance, new technology roll outs, new store build outs, relocations and remodels.

Today, Jeff serves as our Manager of Field Services. In this role, Jeff oversees our project management and technical support team. Together, these two groups support our customer facing project oversight and all technical support for our assets in the field. The mission remains the same, to deliver a level of service to our customers that most people forgot even existed. Jeff’s leadership and experience have proven to be a valuable asset in this regard.

In his spare time, Jeff enjoys watching his two sons play sports, boating and spending time at the lake.

Leah Patton

Manager of Business Development

Leah secured her first job at 15 years old shelving library materials at her local public library. Always hungry for knowledge and new ideas, Leah has succeeded in her various roles in banking, healthcare, retail, insurance sales and government contracting. She has enjoyed the diversity that each of these jobs has brought and been rewarded with life-long knowledge propelling her toward success.

Although Leah landed at AST rather recently, she has quickly become a vital team member by constantly offering new ideas to help refine our process and better understand our customer. Leah’s keen perception of reality, as it relates to our target customers, along with her avid attention to detail has set her apart from her peers. Through diligent market research Leah is able to offer our customers the quality service they have come to expect from AST. These character traits combined with a drive to succeed, continue to empower her to provide the highest level of service to our clients.

In her leisure, Leah enjoys gardening, hiking and participating in local community charity events benefiting organizations like the Epilepsy Foundation of Western Ohio.
